While not a game I've prduced it is one I played for a while. Screeps is a Javascript based MMO in which all players must write their own code to control a colony of robots.
The robots gather resources, construct buildings, explore, conquer territory and wage war with each other. All scripts are limited by their processor usage and so players are encouraged to squeeze every bit of performance they can.

Around 2015-2016 I created a multi-room colony capable of scouting new areas, sending pioneers to mine and settle new rooms and defend itself when encountering enemies. Unfortunately, the game eventually became full of large-scale collaborative open source bots rather than players writing their own.
